That’s exactly what I did.
I am becoming more interested with doing my makeup. I usually keep it simple – nude lip, neutral eyeshadow with some golds. But I’m challenging myself to do more. Getting inspiration from YouTube videos, I’m taking the plunge.
One of those challenges – colorful lips!
Here you can see below, I have a bunch of red items.
I don’t usually wear red anything on my face. But I’ve collected a few items over time (samples I’ve received from Sephora, random purchases); I was determined to try and see what works for me.
The items I tried on were Sephora cream lip stain, Nars satin lip pencil, NYX Matte lipstick.
Needless to say, I didn’t seem as comfortable with the ruby shades on my face. But I kept going. I heard everyone can wear a bold red lip, I just need to figure out which one. Not feeling the matte, but one day I’ll get used to it. I’ll have to purchase Ruby Woo in the near future.
Still working out the concealer deal. It’s okay. When I had a consultation over a year ago, I was recommended to get this. It’s been fine. But covering more canvas helps – using it from under my eye to the top of my cheek, plus the V of my forehead that leads to the bridge of my nose. Then, I sealed everything with the HD Micro Finish powder (also from Make Up For Ever). Update – I tried this technique on Sunday morning for church and it worked very well! Always looking for ways to step up my makeup game.
The pink sponge? The beautiful original Beauty Blender. Purchased it a few weeks ago and I love it.
Verdict? Not too bad. Practice makes perfect.
