That’s My Song: Infatuation (Lipstick Gypsy)

On Thursday night, I was coming home from a small get-together, and I heard this song on the radio.  I automatically felt a connection and was hooked.  Gave me a very strong Maxwell-meets-Jamiroquai vibe (anyone remember them?).  So, I assumed it was a ’90s-early ’00s jam that I missed.

But I found out, Lipstick Gypsy, is fairly current. Only two guys.  Their sound has that silky blend of funk, soul, and R&B, that can stay in your head for a little bit. It gives me a long drive on a summer night, or chillin’ with your friends or special friend with a glass of wine kind-of-feels. Just makes you want to move, however you can.

Take a listen.  The lead singer’s voice reminded me of Daley.

Just listened to their other single, “The Cure”. Now, this one has a bit of Hall & Oates influence going on.  Not too shabby. 🙂

I just watched the video…wasn’t expecting all that! (Blushing!  Giving you a heads up – parental advisory.)

But def check out the song. I think you will enjoy it.
