I officially first heard of The Knocks back in November 2014, when I attending a St. Lucia concert with my sister. They were the second act; just turntables and a guitar. But check this out, they had two background dancers (Intriguing)! We were in a smaller venue, so it was very underground/club-like. The first song they played, it was okay, but as they continued, I thoroughly began to enjoy their set. I believe everyone else did too.
Recently, they released a song with Walk The Moon (“Best For Last” – very good), and were interviewed by Josh Hutcherson (my MCM) in Interview Magazine, so they came back to the forefront of my musical mind. I was checking out the Discover Weekly playlist (seriously – check it out if you have Spotify), and “Collect My Love” rolled in, while I was working on errands.
My reaction: YAHHHHS! It’s such a fun and bouncy song. I’m always one to feel the beat and move, and hearing this does not disappoint. Alex Newell, the guest artist, makes the track even more memorable with his soulful and powerful vocals.
The video came out in the summer, but the album (their first LP), 55, is premiering on March 4th (with the WTM song). They have some other strong features from artists you may have heard of. 🙂
Check it out!
