    DC Life, Wanderlust

    24 Hours At The Wharf

Happy Monday, friends! FINALLY posting about my visit to Districf Wharf (“the Wharf”), back in the spring.

This still growing development in Southwest Washington, is bustling with life and activities. I’ve been to the Wharf several times, but never long enough to really enjoy the area. We took a ladies’ overnight trip right before Easter and I’m so glad we went.

The drive wasn’t too bad; once we got to the area, near the traffic light that leads in into the Wharf, it was congested. But that’s a given. So prep for that, as well as having patience to find parking, depending on the time of day.

    Color Me Badd, DC Life

    Visiting Varnish Lane

I treat myself to a mani/pedi about twice a year.  Wait, let me clarify.  Usually, I do my nails at home, but it’s nice to get them professionally done every once in a while.  Since it was a birthday gift to myself, I decided to book an appointment at Varnish Lane.

Settled in an adorable yellow building literally right over the MD/DC border, Varnish Lane offers waterless manicures and pedicures, and other spa treatments. (such as waxing).  VL only uses toxic-free polishes, essential oils, and other specialty products during appointments.  Here is their page about why they do waterless.

After hearing great things when they opened, I visited for the first time in 2015. I enjoyed it but I never got a chance to return until a few weeks ago.

    DC Life, Food, The Weekend!

Theatre and Brunch? Sounds Good To Me!

Lately, I’ve been a hardcore homebody during the weekends. Partially by default. During the week, I’m running all over so I usually keep my off-days empty. But this past weekend, I went to see a musical and brunch. I’m a social butterfly at heart and I do thrive on being around people. This season has been a little different, learning new things and focusing more on myself, which has been a blessing. But it’s still okay to switch it up and go out.  A double whammy of fun for me.  Of course, I had my phone and camera nearby, so this post has a chockful of pics! Let’s go. 🙂
