How simple or intricate is your makeup routine?
I know it varies for everyone. Some just need moisturizer and mascara before walking out the door. Or, they choose to not even wear makeup. I wish I was in that category! For others, a full beat is required. And that’s okay!
Lately, I’ve usually put on something, so I’m not scaring folks or having them think I’m always sleep deprived. I can’t always keep my sunglasses on. LOL.
But here are my go-to’s for an easy look, for just going out, or when I have to do these video conference calls (this is a new thing for me).
Happy Monday! New month, new week, new you! 🙂
It’s been a while since I’ve mentioned any makeup on the blog. But I’ve been scooping up items since my last beauty buys post, sharing bits and pieces over on Snapchat, but it’s time to make an official recap.
So, here are the four affordable products I’m truly digging at the moment:
Happy Thursday, y’all. Back at it again with the makeup! Here is what I’ve picked up in the last six weeks:

Black Radiance True Complexion BB Cream in “Honey Amber”
Cetaphil Cleanser (travel size)
ColourPop Super Shock Cheek in “Butterfly Beach”
ColourPop Ultra Matte Lip in “More Better”
Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder (sample)
Maybelline “The Nudes” Palette – Blushed and Rock
Maybelline Color Sensational Creamy Matte in “Daringly Nude”
Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel

Urban Decay Long-Lasting Makeup Setting Spray
Items not shown: Real Techniques Expert Face Brush, Revlon Dramatic Definition Mascara,
My favorites at this time: The Blushed palette, the Expert Face Brush, Finishing Powder, the Super Shock Cheek, and Hydro Boost. Gradually, I will start working the other items into my routine and figure out if they work for me.
I highly recommend finding sample versions of products you’re getting the first time. By doing this, you can test it out and save money. (Don’t we all love doing that?) Then, you can see if it’s time to commit to the full size. Sephora and Ulta are great resources to find a plethora of items, and they have good reward systems, that you can use those points for future buys. That’s always fun. Also, do your research to find the best buy for each product. Drugstore.com is pretty neat too.
Have you made any purchases recently? Let me know – I’d love to find out what you’re liking these days.
Yeah, I do.
It’s a known fact that I enjoy the liquid goodness known as coffee. Something about it, just makes me happy. When I get home from my morning, I brew a cup. While I teach, it’s either water or coffee (hot or iced, depends on my mood). But it’s a given that this is part of my daily routine. Hey, have you seen my avatar on here or Instagram? Yeah. 🙂
So recently, I’ve had to adjust my diet for a bit. I’m re-evaluating different things, finding healthy, energy-fueling, and yummy options for myself. Several hours of searching and finding lists on Pinterest. That includes the creamer I use. I knew that there were “cleaner” alternatives to the regular creamers in the store (I haven’t been bold enough to make my own before). I saw a creamer a few months ago and it just didn’t taste good. At all.
As I walked towards the dairy aisle the other day, I turned to my left, and found the light. (Cue Hallelujah Chorus.)
I found the Simply Pure creamer by International Delight. As it’s stated on the label, only five ingredients used – a complete opposite than the whole paragraph of items in other products. Not too shabby! It’s not as sweet as I’m used to, but it’s very flavorful and works very well with my morning coffee. So, I’ll be picking this up every time I need a refill to sweeten my daily cup.
It’s been a constant experiment to replace the junk and switching it up, but at least I was able to find an easy solution for my coffee!
If you drink coffee with a tad (or lot) of creamer, which ones do you use? Have you made your own before?
