I love visiting new places in my area. As busy as I am, it’s nice to take a step back and enjoy what’s being offered in my own backyard (so to speak). I don’t remember how I found out about The Family Room, but once I visited their instagram (thefamilyroomlaytonsville) page, I knew that I had to visit!
Always itching to walk around and take pictures, I went to Annapolis last week. Some of the bloggers and locals I follow on Instagram, mentioned specific streets downtown and so I went! Annapolis is definitely a walking town; you’ll get your steps in but as a reward, there is a lot to see and experience.
Summer is pretty much here. For most, this means having more free time to explore, get away, and do fun things. I’m down for that. Why not start the adventure closer to home?
My friends and I visited Big Cork Vineyards during Memorial Day weekend. We heard very good things about the place and the timing worked out as well. From where I live, it’s about 45 minutes away in Washington County, MD. It’s in a quiet area, which is nice. Even though it’s not that far, once you arrive on the grounds, you feel like you escaped for the day.
During our Spring break (the week before Easter), my friend and I went to Annapolis – she had never visited before! You know I had to show her around. Our state’s capital has so much to offer – the history, arts and entertainment, good food, and a modern, preppy feel that many enjoy. It’s only an hour away from where I am. Right off of Route 50, towards the beaches.
On Saturday, youngest brother and I traveled to Brother #1’s school. They had been missing each other and since Little M (who isn’t as little anymore) just celebrated a birthday, I thought, why not go visit? Of course, I took the camera. Here’s a peek.
