Summer always calls for cold beverages! For me, it’s not as easy to drink hot coffee when it’s incredibly humid outside. But y’all know, I dig my caffeine. So, I’ve been making iced lattes. In the mornings, if I’m not already on the go, I don’t always want to go out. And I know I shouldn’t be spending more on coffee than I should. This is an easy solution.
With a few ingredients, I can whip up a tasty drink and get back to my work. It’s simple and it gets the job done. Because. You know. It’s coffee. 😉
Here’s what I use:
- Ice cubes
- Water
- Instant coffee
- Milk
- Your favorite flavor (creamer, sweetener, etc.)
- Two cups
I always freeze ice cubes and have some instant coffee in the cupboard, just in case.
On the instant coffee container, it recommends 6 oz. of water, but I use less since it’s just one serving. With the small cup, I use 1 spoonful of coffee and stir into the water. In my regular cup, I assemble the ice cubes, then pour milk and the creamer. Caramel is my boo, so I use that flavor. I wing it so I probably use about 2/3 cups of milk and a teaspoon of creamer. Finally, I pour the coffee and stir. I sip to see if it tastes right and I adjust.
Boom! I have my latte, giving me the right balance of kick and sweet.
Right now, I’m just sipping on a regular iced one – I substituted the creamer with a few drops of vanilla extract and sugar. Had to make something quick before I go to Zumba! (Week Four. Pray for me.)
Do you make your own iced coffee during the summer? Let me know! I hope you have a great day.

I knew I bought instant coffee for a reason! Was thinking coffee cake but now I want an iced latte 🙂
