Goals, Intentions, and Surprises

How was your month? Do anything fun? Helped anyone out? Learned something new about yourself. Let me know – I’d love to hear from you. 🙂

Challenge for you: Have you written out your goals and intentions for September? I’m working on mine this weekend.

Last month, I was thinking and praying about I wanted to work on for the next 4 weeks – personal, work, helping others, projects, etc. During my quiet time, after writing it all down, I jotted a sentence down:

It was a general statement for specific things. I know in my last post, I mentioned consistency. That was the word I kept hearing and coming back to – a pep talk for myself. Still working on it…but I’m getting there.

That was on the 6th.  Since then, I have received several opportunities within my different jobs (Yes, this girl has about 4 different occupations). They came out of nowhere, I didn’t force anything.  Some are still in the works, but to be considered – that blows my mind. That’s favor right there, y’all.

I didn’t do anything special. All I did was stay consistent with the work I was doing, not worrying, and being thankful for the current things I had going on. It’s a process to stay positive and not be swayed by circumstances. Trust me, I’m still learning.

Now, I’m working on staying calm because everything’s happening so fast. Mind you, all good things! God is so faithful. I remembered at the beginning of the year, I made some investments into my career and hobbies and now they’re blossoming into new career moves.  It wasn’t a huge “a-ha” moment; I just knew in my heart that it was the right thing to do.

There’s a Scripture that reminds me of this situation:

God can do anything, you know—far more than you could ever imagine or guess or request in your wildest dreams! (The Message) – Ephesians 3:20

This time last year, I was believing for some shifts in my career, personal life, etc., but nothing like this. I didn’t think that far ahead and I got surprised big time. Guess what? I’m not a big fan of surprises at all. Joke’s on me. 😀

Once everything settles, I’ll share with you more details.

All that to say, in conjunction with my previous post, I encourage you to stick with it. Don’t limit yourself and the goals and dreams you have. They’re inside of you for a reason. Even if you experienced some less-than-stellar moments or events this year, there’s still more in store for you. Good things!

Have a great weekend!
