How are y’all doing today?
As part of my “get it together” routine, I bought myself a Fitbit (Charge HR) last week. Since I’ve been doing better with my knee (two months since physical therapy), I purposefully walk more. I’m not committed to join a gym or anything, so I need all the help I can get. Right now, this is a decent avenue for working out, besides dancing and Pilates.
I know it’s a trendy thing to do and I don’t wear watches, but it’s too bad having something on my arm, that isn’t a bracelet! 🙂
Today is the start of day 5 and I like it a lot! I’ve been doing better each time, upping the ante. How do I get my steps in – walking around the house, running errands, and dancing! I put some fun songs and get to moving. It’s so much fun. And who can say no to an impromptu dance party?
The app is neat, showing stats on how many miles you’ve walked and calories you’ve burned. I know the section everyone must love – the challenges. I admit, I’m competitive, and I want to do well. I have family members and friends who do the whole “challenge” thing, and even want me to join. I’m not quite ready to go that far! But it’s a cool way to challenge myself and “see” the goals. I need the accountability The last two nights, I was able to make it to 10,000, and my knee wasn’t completely achy! *Cue happy dancing*
So we shall see how this pans out. I’m believing for good results.
How about you? Do you have a Fitbit? Pros/Cons? Or how else do you keep yourself in check when it comes to fitness/working out? Let me know here or even on twitter – would love to hear from you.
Have a great day!
