I’m doing a celebratory pas de bourrée… my favorite season has arrived.
We got a quick preview a few weeks ago, but it’s starting to cool down on the East coast. Depending on your area, the fall (or maybe you call it autumn) can mean different things. The gold, red, and orange leaves create a gorgeous canvas outside. Our drink choices are warmer. Apples and spiced pumpkins are the scents of choice. Some of our routines (school and teaching) start again. Things are changing again.
But usually, our wardrobes lean towards longer sleeves, more accessories, and richer shades of our favorite colors. That’s a constant.
Is there a piece that you start to wear in the fall?
If you follow me on Twitter or Snapchat, you knew what I was up to this weekend. My friend texted me at 1am on Saturday. asking if I would be able to accompany him to his friend’s wedding. For that day. So, about 15 hours away. I thought for a minute and said yes. Of course, I didn’t want him to go alone! But my brain was swirling with thoughts. How in the world was I going to pull this off? Knowing it’d be an event to remember, but not having fancy in my closet. I was not prepared!
Sometimes when you wear a bright color, your mood changes. Or better yet, it can enhance what you’re feeling on the inside. I found this sleeveless Georgette tank in Citrus from Apt. 9. When I saw it on the rack, I knew it would be a good addition to my summer ensemble. Kohl’s always comes through with the nice deals. Plus, I didn’t have any yellow in my repertoire. Shameful!
Happy Monday! How’s it going? Catching up on so many things this month, so hope you’re ready for a full week of new posts.
Spring is back and that means our outfits reflect the season change. I thoroughly enjoy mixing it up and adding brighter and softer colors to my wardrobe. You most likely saw the picture I posted on FB and IG (add me, if you haven’t already) of my outfit that I wore on Easter. I had a few concepts in mind for outfit inspiration. Separates, a dress? Something stylish but comfortable since I knew I would be out and about all day. I wasn’t sure until the day before.
Thankfully, I visited Kohl’s and got the hook up! Let’s get into the details.
My desire to look extra fancy for Christmas usually hits a roadblock every year. I don’t shop early enough or the outfit idea doesn’t come to me until the last minute. Discouragement creeps in and I have to keep pushing towards my goal = look decent and stylish. In addition to photo ops, I sing at my church’s Christmas Eve/Morning service. I stand in front of everyone so I can’t look busted. (Yowza!) The combination of looking nice and comfortable is important to me.
I wore black and burgundy last year, so I wanted to try a different color scheme. A few years back, I wore a sleeveless black dress with a gold scarf. It was reasonable and easy enough to duplicate this look.
